Happy Hour: Mai Tai

Back in April my husband and I went on vacation to Honolulu. We had a great time and I am determined to get us there again sometime next winter. Since it will be awhile before we can dig our toes in the sand under a swaying palm tree I like bring back the nostalgia of our trip with the quintessential Hawaiian cocktail,  the Mai Tai.
The Mai Tai is a rum based fruity drink that’s perfect for lazy days on a tropical beach or even just lazy nights on the couch watching Hawaii Five-0

Ingredients

1/2 oz coconut rum
1/2 oz triple sec
1 oz dark rum
3 oz pineapple juice
 1/2 oz lime juice
dash of grenadine

Mix all ingredients together except the dark rum and pour into an old fashioned glass (or mason jar!) filled with ice, then pour the dark rum on top.
Garnish with fresh fruit and a little umbrella (or a sprig of mint and a pretty flower from the garden)
Cheers!

This looks and sounds delicious! I love all the flavors so it looks like a good drink for me. I'm going to vow right now to have one of those while lounging by my pool before summer is over!
